Dr.P.M.Sowjanya, did her Bachelor Degree in Arts (1995) from Gulbarga University, Master Degree in Political Science (1997) from Mysore University, Karnataka. She was awarded the Gold medal for securing 1 st Rank in MA (Political Science) by Mysore University. She completed her M.Phil in 2000 and Ph.D. in 2015 from University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad. She has also completed Post Graduate Diploma in Distance Education (2011) from IGNOU. 
 

Dr. Sowjanya, joined IGNOU in July, 2006 and was posted at Regional Centre, Bangalore. In July, 2014 she was transferred to Regional Centre, Panaji. Subsequently she was transferred from Regional Centre, Panaji to Regional Centre, Vijayawada during March, 2017. On transfer from Regional Centre, Vijayawada in October, 2017 she joined Regional Centre, Hyderabad.
 

In her tenure of working at four Regional Centres, Dr. Sowjanya has been associated with the activities related to Admission, Establishment of LSCs, Evaluation, Publicity and Promotional Activities. Dr.Sowjanya has participated in a number of conferences and seminars and presented papers in a few conferences and seminars.
