Sh.D.Venkata Ramana did his Bachelor of Arts(Honours) from Nagarjuna University, Guntur 1987. He also obtained Post Graduation Diploma in Distance Education in 1998 from IGNOU. Sh.Ramana has successfully completed his Masters degree in Rural Development from IGNOU.

Sh.Ramana joined Indira Gandhi National Open University in February, 1989 as Stenographer and was posted School of Sciences, IGNOU, New Delhi. He was promoted to the post of Personal Assistant – II in April, 1994 and was attached to School of Continuing Education and was actively involved in the activities related to Panchayat Raj Project with the School. During April, 2004 he was transferred to Regional Centre, Hyderabad and was attached with Regional Directors Secretariat. Subsequently he was promoted to the post of Private Secretary in March, 2007. In November, 2009 he was transferred to IGNOU, New Delhi and was posted at Regional Services Division, IGNOU, New Delhi. During his tenure at RSD he was actively associated with the number of activities of the Division. In November, 2013 he was transferred to Regional Centre, Hyderabad and attached with Regional Director’s Secretariat and is involved with various activities at the Regional Centre.  Sh.D.V..Ramana got promoted as Assistant Registrar and assumed charge on 6th October, 2022 and posted at Regional Centre, Hyderabad
